Good design is obvious, great design is transparent

Professional Profile
All About Amanda Goay
Enrolled in Diploma in Architecture back in 2016 and graduated with Merits in 2019. Immediately continued with Bachelor of Science in Architecture in the same year, 2019, and will be graduating in May of 2021 with a LAM Part 1.
Entered into Architecture by chance but have since fallen deeper in love with it. Special interest in physical model making, which in hindsight is what drew me to this course. A firm believer that a good design can change lives but also understands that design is more often easier said than done. Personally, I have a huge room for improvement in terms of design.
Through the five year program, we went through a number of Design Studios along with supplementary subjects that range from hands-on, bricklaying, concrete mixing; Uniform Building By-Laws and Architect's Rules; History and Theories; Construction Technology and Materials; and last but not least, various software and plugins. And to top it all off, the program also included two internship opportunities that add up to approximately 8 months long. All of these have hopefully prepped us enough to enter the workforce.
Feel free to have a look around my website where I have included some of my more recent academic works and will update it every now and then! Thanks for dropping by! You could also get in touch with me by hitting that 'Get In Touch' button on the top right!

Working Experience
October 2018 - April 2019
Architectural Intern, Essential Design Integrated
The first internship and first exposure to the industry was a part of our Diploma program. Spent approximately half a year here, learning a lot especially in terms of workflow, drafting, and model making. Very grateful for the opportunity given, and the patience of the seniors for teaching and guiding us every step of the way.
October 2020Â - December 2020
Architectural Intern, GM Ling Architect
The second and final internship before getting LAM Part 1. Time spent with the company was relatively shorter but fruitful nonetheless. Learnt a lot about the roles and responsibility for each part (Part 1. 2 and 3) as well as further reinforcing what are the steps and process from design all the way to hand over to the client. Just as grateful for the opportunity and patience and guidance even though it is just a short period.
